Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Indianapolis recently visited a Pilot Gas Station to locate any unknown utilities prior to excavation. Our customer needed to add some equipment to the site and wanted to make sure that no utilities were damaged during the construction process that would danger the job or the crew. The technician on site was able to paint out the positions of all the dangers in the area and provide precise depths to the top of the pipes. The information provided allowed the project to continue without delay.

Underground imaging not only can react to what lies below the surface of the soil, it also doesn’t emit any radiation. When interpreted by trained and certified GPRS technicians non-destructive soil scanning can quickly show the dangerous utilities in the area so they can be avoided during the excavating process. Clogged drains were filling a warehouse with water, our customer needed to fix this issue but did not have any plans on where the drain pipes ran to. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Indianapolis mobilized to the site and mapped the drain lines on the surface of the slab on grade, then added the findings into the buildings CAD file. This allowed the facilities maintenance department to determine the best method of removing the clog so that work could continue unimpeded. The private utility radar technician provided precise depths to the top of the drain lines so the slope of the utilities could be determined for removal of the clog.
