Underground Void Detection - French Lick, Indiana

Under many concrete slabs on grade the grade can be washed away over time or after a large flood. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Indianapolis recently visited French Lick Indiana to determine how severe the voids below the surface were after the concrete began to crack in the tennis courts. Our customer discovered a hole in the tennis court where the grade below was washed away after a bad flood and a hole in the asphalt developed. The technician on site was able to scan the entire area and map the size of several voids on the surface of the asphalt so they could begin the repairing process.

Soil imaging technology is excellent at locating whatever anomalies may be in the soil that customers either want to avoid or to find. Radar imaging can detect density changes in the soil making locating voids a perfect task for the GPR technology.
