Locating Voids Under Concrete Slab After Water Main Break - Franklin, Indiana

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Indianapolis was contacted to inspect a recent water line break that resulted in water, sand, dirt and debris to be pushed up through the ground around the concrete drive. Although GPRS cannot detect leaks, we can locate voids under the concrete slab. The client wanted to know if any voids were present and where they were located. The area scanned did confirm voids under the slab anywhere from 6” to 11” from the surface. Paint markings were put on the surface to help the client know where to dig. The 1600 MHz and 400 MHz cart were used on this particular site. Ground Penetrating Radar is non-destructive, non-hazardous and gives immediate results.
